Delta Exchange Launches Call and Put Options Settled in USDT

We are delighted to announce the launch of Call and Put Options markets on Delta Exchange. This makes us one of four major exchanges to offer limit order-books for C/P options. We are also the only exchange to have CLOB for options that are settled in USDT.

 

Call and Put options will be available on BTC, ETH, LINK and BNB begin trading on Delta Exchange on September 17, 2020, at 9:00 AM EST. Daily, weekly and monthly maturities will be available for trading immediately. 

 

Options contracts give holders the right to buy or sell the underlying asset at a predetermined price on a predetermined date in the future. The key advantage of options is that the buyer has the right but not the obligation to exercise the option. Thus the holders of options will only exercise if it is profitable to do so on the exercise date. 

 

Call and Put options on Delta Exchange are uniquely settled in USDT, a key differentiator that will give customers the opportunity to trade options on a variety of crypto assets with the same margin currency. These options will also be quoted in USDT instead of BTC to make it easier for traders to relate to. 

 

Just as futures help inventors protect themselves against directional risk, options help hedge against the volatility risk. As crypto markets grow bigger and more sophisticated players enter the market, there will be an increasing demand for Options.

Currently, of the handful of exchanges that offer Options trading, none support options on Altcoins. Delta Exchange arrives first to market with the opening of option trading on Bitcoin, Ethereum and top altcoins such as LINK, BNB etc. 

 

Delta Exchange offers MOVE options, a bundled options product geared towards retail audiences. Since launch, in late March, Delta’s MOVE options on BTC and ETH have grown 85% month over month compounded reinforcing the demand for additional options products. Call and Put options will be an unbundled product which are anticipated to garner traction from both retail and institutional traders.
